  A well-designed catalog is the first step in putting together your ecommerce site. It must be easy for the customer to see the items for sale, easy to find the price, and, above all, easy to order.
  
  Either a text-based or an image-based catalog can be created. You can provide the photographs of your inventory, or, if you live in the Southern California area, I can take pictures with my digital camera.

  I have written a shopping cart using the ASP.NET technology that can be integrated seamlessly into your site, and will look the same as your other pages.

  A vendor such as VeriSign or Authorize.Net can provide a secure credit-card handling service that can be integrated into your web site.

  A system can be set up that "remembers" returning customers using "cookies" (a small amount of information that is stored on the customer's hard drive and sent back to your site every time the customer revisits). This feature is enormously popular with customers since they do not have to re-enter their customer information with every visit, and provides a great incentive for customers to reorder from your site.
