First,
get in touch with me, either by email or phone. Go to the
contact us page for this information. Tell me about your company's goals
and any other information you think pertinent.
I
will return your call or email, and if it is practical, we can arrange an
in-person meeting, or we can discuss your plans on the phone or by email.
I
will put together a text-based "storyboard" summarizing the contents of each
page and may also include a mock-up of a proposed graphical design. I will
include an estimate of the cost with this and mail or email this to you for
your approval.
Once
the decision has been made to go ahead, I will draw up a contract specific to
your particular web site. We will negotiate until
both parties are satisfied.
At
this point, a partial payment should be made, with the remainder due when the
site is hosted.
You
will provide me (by mail or email) specific photographs you may wish to include
in the design, as well as any text content you specifically desire.
When
the design is approved, I will start coding. I will periodically upload
finished files to my web site so that you may look at them.
I
will then work on a graphic design and a "theme" for web site as a whole. I
will put these files in a subdirectory of my web site so you can view and
approve them.
You
can, at any time, submit your domain name for registration to Network Solutions
or another registering agency of your choice.
Before
the site is finished, with your approval, I may set up the hosting account and
move the home page to the host in order to submit the site to search engines
and allow sufficient time for the site to become registered on the search
engines.
When
the site is finished I will notify you for your final approval.
I
will then move the entire site to the host and we can discuss other marketing
strategies.
